HIGHLIGHTS

Director-level P&C catastrophe research role in Chubb's Science Center based in Philadelphia. Lead independent research and integration of catastrophe model improvements (modeled and non-modeled perils) to support Chubb Tempest Reinsurance, underwriting, actuarial, claims and senior management.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Develop Chubb view of catastrophe risk and integrate research into modeling framework
  • Validate and develop natural catastrophe risk assessment tools for CTR
  • Provide near‑real‑time event response insights to underwriting, claims and senior leadership
  • Work with RMS models and build analyses using R or Python, SQL and GIS
  • Director role requiring MS/PhD and 5–7 years in catastrophe model validation or development

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Natural catastrophe risk assessment tool development
  • Catastrophe model validation
  • Experience with RMS products
  • Advanced probability and statistics
  • GIS and spatial analysis

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ph.D. or Masters in meteorology, engineering, statistics, climate or related field
  • 5–7 years in validation or development of natural catastrophe risk assessment tools
  • Experience with RMS products
  • Advanced knowledge of probability and statistics
  • Advanced R or Python, SQL, Excel and GIS skills
