HIGHLIGHTS

Senior health actuarial leadership role on the UHG Trend Analytics team supporting Optum Health. You will lead a team delivering medical expense reporting and the Health Care Trend Analytics report, build analytic frameworks from large claims datasets, and present forecasts to executive stakeholders. Remote across the U.S. with preferred location Eden Prairie, MN.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead development and delivery of Health Care Trend Analytics and medical expense reporting
  • Manage a team of actuaries and mentor staff in a high-visibility role
  • Build analytic frameworks and forecast medical cost using large claims datasets
  • Present complex analyses to executive audiences and partner with finance/operations
  • Remote across the U.S.; Minneapolis/DC hires require 4 days/week in office

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • managed care / payer actuarial experience
  • experience with Optum at Home populations (DSNP/ISNP/CSNP)
  • medical expense reporting and forecasting
  • developing analytic solutions from large health care claims datasets

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Credentialed actuary (ASA or FSA) required
  • 10+ years in health actuarial roles with progressive leadership in payer/managed care
  • Experience delivering medical expense reporting and forecasting
  • Proven experience with large health care datasets and analytic model development
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and tools such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, PowerBI, VBA
