Given the prevailing stereotypes associated with internships at companies and firms, Alfa is determined to challenge expectations and provide a truly valuable experience. As part of this effort, the interns are treated as integral members of the team, receiving meaningful tasks and collaborating closely with mentors and other employees across various departments.

Our interns not only acquired knowledge about how an insurance company operates but also develop lasting relationships, both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

Support Alfa's life product pricing, design, and profitability analysis, including assumptions review and sources of earnings analysis.
Help develop and enhance Alfa's proprietary R-based actuarial models. Perform user acceptance testing on model changes made by other actuarial staff.
Support actuarial reserve valuation and financial reporting for Alfa's life and annuity products
Review and analyze industry white papers, peer-company benchmarking data, and competitive survey data. Present findings to actuarial, underwriting, and analytics staff.

Qualifications

Rising Junior or Senior in a 4-year university
Actuarial Science or Mathematics major
Computer skills and ability to learn new programs (Microsoft Office)
Good communication skills
Team player
