Position Summary

The Actuary Analyst will collaborate closely with the Actuarial Manager and play a key part in a small, dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who thrives on developing and implementing new actuarial processes. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse actuarial and risk management projects while partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across the organization.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform quarterly reserve analyses for multiple programs and lines of business
Assist in preparing the annual Statement of Actuarial Opinion as well as the Actuarial Report and exhibits for all companies
Maintain and assist in the oversight of system for obtaining and organizing actuarial data
Regular industry research for various lines of business and geographies
Work with IT/claims/finance on regularly reconciling data and solving data issues
Perform ad hoc reserving and pricing actuarial projects
Put together regular actuarial packets that summarize relevant actuarial projections for each program
Help review actuarial data for new and potential programs as part of due diligence process
Communicate with internal program managers and other departments regarding actuarial questions and needs that arise
Work with underwriting team to keep track of rate changes for the programs
Become familiar with the reinsurance structure for each program and stay on top of any reinsurance changes throughout the year that need to be incorporated in any actuarial analyst.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate ideally located in Charlotte, with Atlanta or Puerto Rico also considered
0-3 years of actuarial experience with reserving and/or ratemaking
Progress made towards ACAS/FCAS, with at least 2 exams passed
Motivated worker able to collaborate with a small actuarial team
Ability to communicate actuarial results to a non-actuarial audience
Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
Programming experience a plus
Ability to collaborate across the Company
