Senior Life ERM role for Munich Re North America based in New York. You will lead enterprise risk management for life reinsurance across the US, Canada and Bermuda, overseeing ERC model development, Solvency II implementation, and risk review of new business and M&A. The role is a VP-level position reporting to the CRO and includes people leadership of the Business Risk team.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead ERM for life reinsurance operations across US, Canada and Bermuda
- Oversee development and refinement of the Economic Risk Capital (ERC) model
- Manage and develop a small team responsible for Business Risk
- Evaluate new products, large transactions and M&A from a risk perspective
- Report to the CRO of Munich Re North America Life & Health
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Extensive life reinsurance experience
- Understanding of market and credit risk for assets and liabilities
- Experience with IFRS, US GAAP/statutory or Canadian GAAP accounting
- Risk management across underwriting, market, credit, liquidity, concentration
- Economic Risk Capital (ERC) model development or refinement
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- FSA designation required
- At least 10 years of risk management experience
- Extensive life (re)insurance experience
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP/statutory, or Canadian GAAP
- Experience managing a small team of senior professionals
