Coverys is looking for an Actuarial Co-op to support our Accident and Health Actuarial team. The position entails analyzing historical data, recognizing trends, helping with rate filings, and developing skills to automate processes. You will also work with our Data Science team and see how our work influences their models.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare premium, claim and exposure data for actuarial analysis.
• Work with Excel templates and running SQL and Tableau queries.
• Pull competitor rate filings, summarizing, and integrating with our own data.
• Review market share and annual statement data.
• Review, research, and reconcile data from various sources.
• Participate in team meetings.

Education, Requirements & Competencies & Values

• Major in mathematics, science, programming, economics, or other quantitative field
• Experience with R, SQL, SAS, VBA, or Python are helpful, but not required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to interpret and analyze various types of data
