Closer to a reserving and reporting cycle role than a pricing partner role because recurring close and forecasting work outweigh live deal ownership.

Entry-level Health actuarial analyst role in Illinois supporting Medicare Advantage. You’ll assist with IBNR reserving, monthly provider reconciliations, Medicare Advantage bids, forecasting, trend analysis, and actuarial modelling. The role requires a quantitative bachelor’s degree and at least one SOA exam.

Requirements

Must have

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science
  • Completion of at least one Society of Actuaries (SOA) exam
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Strongly preferred

  • Experience or coursework in SQL, Python, or R
  • Internship or project experience in healthcare or insurance analytics
  • Familiarity with Medicare Advantage or value-based care models
  • 0-3 years experience in actuarial analysis, reserving, Medicare Advantage, and/or value-based settlements
