HIGHLIGHTS

Actuarial Analyst (Health) supporting the Actuarial Services team at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. You will work on pricing, reserving, trend evaluation and forecasting, maintain models and systems, and provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders. Role is based in Nebraska and supports organizational financial and product performance objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Support pricing, reserving, trend analysis and forecasting for health products
  • Maintain and enhance models and systems for claims reserves and pricing
  • Analyze health insurance data and produce recommendations for stakeholders
  • Work within the Actuarial Services team at a Nebraska-based health carrier
  • Suitable for candidates with 1+ actuarial exam passed and programming basics

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Health insurance data analysis
  • Claims reserving and model maintenance
  • Pricing, trend analysis and forecasting
  • Spreadsheet and database modelling
  • Statistical model development

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related required
  • Successful completion of at least 1 actuarial exam (min requirement)
  • Ability to understand programming basics and develop spreadsheet models
  • Experience analyzing health insurance data and identifying trends
  • Ability to maintain models for reserving, pricing and forecasting
