Entry-level P&C actuarial analyst supporting US Specialty lines from the Chicago office. You will assist pricing actuaries on Excess Casualty, Specialty Property, Financial Lines and Professional Lines, build pricing analyses and predictive models, and partner with underwriting on account-level pricing and portfolio performance.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Support pricing for US Specialty P&C lines including Excess Casualty and Specialty Property
- Perform profitability, segmentation, and exposure profile analyses
- Contribute to predictive modelling and technical pricing model enhancements
- Work closely with underwriting on account-level pricing and portfolio decisions
- Based in Chicago (also hiring in New York); office-based actuarial team
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Actuarial or related internship experience at an insurer, broker, or consultancy
- Understanding of loss development and exposure rating
- Experience with statistical modelling and predictive analytics
- Working with large datasets and ensuring data integrity
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SQL, VBA, or R/Python
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or similar
- At least 2 CAS exams passed toward qualification
- Actuarial or related internship experience at carrier, broker, or consultancy
- Advanced Excel and familiarity with SQL, VBA, or R/Python
- Experience with statistical modelling and working with large datasets
