About the role

What you need to know:
We are seeking an early-career level actuarial professional to provide actuarial support for AIG's industry leading Private Client Select business. The lines of business include Homeowners, Auto, Personal Excess Liability and Collections. This role will provide a range of experience in pricing and in working closely with business partners. You will have the opportunity to interact with the Reserving, Product, Catastrophe Management, Finance, Compliance, and IT areas. We are looking for an individual who is internally motivated, intellectually curious, can manage multiple priorities, and is driven to enhance existing processes and make an impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Rate indications: determine and document the adequacy of rates charged in a state
  • Conduct rate testing using built raters and cross-check results in IT systems
  • Monitor rate, loss ratio, conversion, and retention on new and in-force business, while tracking loss trends and industry/regulatory changes. Communicate findings effectively to management and Product teams
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to develop rating proposals that align with business goals
  • Prepare state rate filings while ensuring compliance with state insurance department requirements and promptly responding to department inquiries
  • Generate pricing analyses for territories and different business segments
  • Perform competitive analysis based on filing information and available software
  • Contribute to pricing and product strategy development to maximize risk-adjusted profit
  • Assist in designing and developing analytical tools and techniques to improve actuarial estimates and enhance business management
  • Continuously expand knowledge of the business and data analytics tools
  • Make progress on actuarial credentials by passing exams


What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
  • Preferably two or more actuarial exams
  • 1+ year of experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other programming languages
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and collaboration skills, responsive to service needs and operational demands
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and customer-focused mindset
