HIGHLIGHTS

Health actuarial analyst supporting Medicare Advantage valuation and contracting in Chicago. You will analyze large-scale medical claims, build financial projection and IBNR reserving models, and support underwriting and clinical intervention analyses. Suitable for an associate-level candidate (1–3 years) with SQL/Python skills and at least two actuarial exam passes.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Support new business valuation and contract-level financial projections
Analyze large-scale medical claims and eligibility data using SQL and Python
Develop and maintain IBNR reserving models and monthly reporting
Support underwriting and clinical intervention analyses using statistical models
Chicago-based role with remote options; 1–3 years actuarial experience preferred

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

Medical claims and eligibility dataset cleaning using SQL and Python
Experience analyses: utilization, cost trends, risk adjustment
Developing financial projection models for contract performance
IBNR reserving model development
Underwriting and clinical intervention analysis

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Passed at least 2 actuarial exams
1+ year actuarial experience or internship (1–3 years preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
Proficiency or willingness to learn SQL and Python
Legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship
