Position Description
Performs actuarial and statistical functions for product development and rating, external business, fee tables and schedules.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Designs, implements and maintains various levels of application programs to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely collection and manipulation of data in support of actuarial services.
- Compiles, develops, analyzes, and maintains data for forecasting, rate development, fee development and analysis, insurance bureau filing and budgeting.
- Provides actuarial support to new product development. Assists underwriting with rating of non-standard benefits design.
- Provides information to internal and external customers regarding claims liabilities and receivables, number of subscribers, group experience, and fee analysis. Executes and monitors periodic special reports and analyses to internal and external customers.
- Assists sales and group administration in responding to major bids and proposals.
- Provides actuarial and underwriting assistance to other Delta Dental Plans, the Delta Dental Plan Association and Renaissance, including total business rating analysis, development of manual rating formula, and requested rating factor calculations.
Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described above.

Minimum Requirements:
Position requires a bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field and six months of experience analyzing and reporting data, preferably including some programming. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
Position requires intermediate knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical skills; the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and the ability to solve problems using independent judgment.
