- Assist in the valuation, administration and compliance of Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans. Train in all facets of pension administration.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

- Provide superior customer service, including problem solving with minimal inconvenience to clients
- Provides effective and timely written communications in a clear, concise and informative manner
Initial six months:
- Learn pension law and its applicability to the services Ascensus provides
- Interact with clients to obtain essential information necessary to provide services
- Learn administration system(s) and enter plan information in them
- Learn and understand how to interact with on-line recordkeeping systems
- Prepare plan information in designated formats
- Learn government filing procedures
- Read and develop a working knowledge of pension plan documents
After 6 Months:
- Prepare benefit calculations for certification by enrolled actuary
- Setup and update valuation process for actuary to complete
- Provide superior customer service with minimal disruption to clients
- Assist in testing combined plans for compliance and regulations
- Prepare Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation premium filings for review by enrolled actuary
- Set up proposals and do preliminary run for review by enrolled actuary
- Communicate with clients or financial professionals as needed in support of the enrolled actuary
- Read and become familiar with regulations under ERISA law through self study and company-sponsored training sessions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in actuarial science, math or math related field; Overall GPA 3.0 or higher; Math or Actuarial GPA 3.5 or higher
- Passing grade on at least one actuarial exam
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft, particularly Excel applications
- Demonstrated technical proficiency
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet deadlines in connection with business operations
