Our Financial Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally. Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries support AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics and performance measurement. They collaborate with Marketing, Operations and Financial Management.

About the role:

We are seeking an actuarial professional to provide actuarial support for AIG’s industry leading Excess Casualty business.   This is principally a pricing role that will provide a range of experience in both pricing and pricing techniques. It provides the opportunity to engage with the various profit centers within Excess Casualty.  We are looking for an individual who is internally motivated, intellectually curious, has the ability to assist multiple priorities, and is driven to enhance existing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing the profitability of business segments within Excess Casualty.  Identify pockets of profitable growth opportunities
  • Assist development and design of analytical tools and techniques to help business effectively manage existing portfolios
  • Monitor rate, exposure, retention, new, and lost business changes.  Monitor loss trends and relevant industry/regulatory changes and effectively communicate to the management
  • Assist pricing analyses for large accounts within agreed timescales, working closely with underwriters
  • Update existing KPI management reports
  • Assist in ad-hoc data requests

Qualifications:

  • BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area
  • 2 or more actuarial exams required
  • 1+ years of experience in Commercial Casualty lines preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as SQL, SAS, Python, or R, is required
  • Effective time management skill
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Customer focus

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $67,000--$85,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
