Role Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

Experienced actuarial analyst role in Health focused on provider contracting and network analytics in Oakland, CA. You will build financial models, forecast costs and reserves, analyze provider reimbursement terms, and deploy predictive analytics using R/Python/SQL/SAS. Reports to a Senior Manager and works on provider term changes, renewals, network changes, and terminations.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Support provider contracting analytics for hospitals, ASCs, professional groups, and IPAs/MGs
Develop pricing, trend, reserve and financial forecasting models
Use R, Python, SQL or SAS to explore claims data and deploy predictive models
Reprice historical data against contract terms and analyze rate proposals
Hybrid role — typically 2 days per week in the office (Oakland, CA)

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required, minor in math/stat/CS or equivalent experience
At least 2 years of professional actuarial experience
Typically completed 3 courses toward the ASA designation
Proficiency in Excel and working with large data sets
Experience with R, Python, SQL or SAS (SAS preferred) is expected
