HIGHLIGHTS

Associate-level health actuarial analyst role on Blue Shield of California's Pay for Value team in Oakland, CA. You will support VBC program analytics including forecasting, predictive modelling, pricing/reimbursement analysis, reserves and program reporting. The role requires ~2+ years actuarial experience, comfort with R/Python/SQL/SAS and works hybrid with two days per week in-office.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Build forecasts, pricing/trend analyses, reserves and provider reimbursement models
Use R, Python, SQL or SAS for data exploration and predictive modelling
Hybrid role — typically two days per week in office (Oakland, CA)
Requires 2+ years actuarial experience and progress toward ASA exams

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

2+ years of professional actuarial experience
Progress toward ASA (typically completed 3 courses)
Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or SAS/SQL skills
Bachelor’s degree with minor in math, statistics, or computer science

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required (minor in math, statistics, or CS preferred)
2+ years of professional actuarial experience
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and/or SAS/SQL
Strong communication and presentation skills
