JOB SUMMARY:

Americo is currently hiring for an Actuarial Analyst II. This position is tasked with providing actuarial support and gaining a working knowledge of actuarial and company systems. It is required to learn the actuarial Code of Professional Conduct and to study for Society of Actuaries examinations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Study for and pass SOA exams, become familiar with ASOPs and regulations, develop technical skills
  • General understanding of Actuarial assumptions being used and correct usage thereof
  • Ability to obtain required data in support of work. Validate integrity of data and perform needed analysis. Effectively present results for peer review and presentation.
  • Fundamental understanding of actuarial model including inputs and calculations therein Effective utilization of model and ability to make changes with manager support. Validation of model output and assessment of appropriateness.
  • Provide support as requested for both the Actuarial department and other functional areas with focus on accuracy and efficiency. Ensure a general understanding of why the support is needed and what the end goal is.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • General knowledge of life insurance industry and practices, actuarial guidelines, Code of Professional Conduct, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, actuarial software, and administrative systems
  • Ability to solve problems, analyze data, and reconcile results
  • Communication, people, and project management skills

EDUCATION:
  • 4 year college degree
