Health-plan actuarial analyst role supporting pricing, reserving, filings and underwriting for employer group business in Rockledge, FL. You will build and maintain financial and rating models, project medical costs and reserves, and collaborate with underwriting, claims and finance. Associate-level role requiring two actuarial exams and strong Excel/SQL skills.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Support pricing, rate filings, reserve calculations and financial projections for a health plan
- Maintain rating models and databases used by Underwriting
- Develop models for claims reserves and IBNR projections
- Full-time, onsite in Rockledge, FL with 8:00am–5:00pm shift
- Requires passing two actuarial exams and a BS/BA (Math or Actuarial Science)
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- health plan filing and premium rate development
- group/large group underwriting and pricing support
- reserve calculations including IBNR and claims projections
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- BS/BA in Mathematics or Actuarial Science required
- Minimum 6 months relevant actuarial support experience
- Passed two actuarial exams
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; SQL or other programming language desired
- 3.4 GPA in college or university required
