Pricing partner to underwriting
Closer to a live-business pricing partner than a reserving-cycle role because the work connects rate decisions to MGA programs, underwriting, and market conditions.
Entry-level P&C pricing role in Fortegra's Specialty MGA portfolio, based onsite in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. You will support rate indications, filings, program reviews, performance analysis, and occasional reserving and data projects while working with underwriting, compliance, reinsurance, MGA partners, and regulators.
Requirements
Must have
- At least one actuarial exam passed and commitment to pursuing CAS designation
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain technical results to non-actuaries
- Strong organization and prioritization skills
Nice to have
- Experience with SQL, Python, R, or similar tools
- Interest in applying AI tools thoughtfully to actuarial work
- Familiarity with MGA business or specialty commercial lines
- Progress toward or completion of another insurance designation (CPCU, ARe, etc.)
