Senior actuarial analyst on Blue Shield of California's Pay for Value team in Oakland, CA. Work focuses on value-based care (ACO and virtual care) analytics: predictive modeling, pricing/trending, reserves and provider reimbursement. You'll build forecasts and deploy machine learning using R/Python/SQL/SAS and collaborate cross-functionally to support program design and financial reporting.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead analytics for value-based care programs including ACOs and virtual care
- Build predictive models and forecasts using R, Python, SQL, and SAS
- Develop pricing, trending, reserves, and provider reimbursement analyses
- Hybrid role — work from a business unit office at least two times per month
- Senior IC role requiring 3+ years actuarial experience and a bachelor's degree
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- 3+ years professional actuarial experience
- Advanced experience with Excel and/or SAS/SQL
- Actuarial analyses for pricing, trending, reserving or provider reimbursement
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3 years of professional actuarial experience
- Bachelor’s degree required (minor in math, stats, or CS preferred)
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and/or SAS and SQL
- Strong communication and presentation skills
