Junior P&C actuarial role supporting pricing and reserving at Selective Insurance in Short Hills, NJ (hybrid). You will prepare rate indications, support state filings, assist with reserve analyses and loss projections, and develop analytics using tools like Excel, Access and R/Python as you pursue the FCAS designation.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Support pricing analyses, rate filings, and rate recommendations for P&C products
- Assist with quarterly loss and LAE reserve analyses and IBNR projections
- Work with Excel and Access; familiarity with R or Python is a plus
- Hybrid role based in Short Hills, NJ (Branchville interim location available)
- Entry-level role suited to candidates pursuing the FCAS designation
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Rate indications and state rate filings
- Loss reserve analyses and IBNR estimation
- Support for ceded reinsurance placement and broker submissions
- Familiarity with R or Python for statistical modeling (a plus)
