Closer to capital and risk strategy than a modelling-heavy individual contributor role because provider-business recommendations and team oversight matter alongside the models.
Associate Director health actuarial role in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, supporting Medicare ACO and Value-Based Care business. You’ll oversee complex forecasting and performance-risk models, analyze healthcare claims, advise provider organizations, and lead a small analyst team. The role is advertised as remote within the U.S., but Minneapolis-area hires must work in the office at least four days per week.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related field
- 5+ years of actuarial experience with foundational literacy in healthcare analytics and modeling
- 3+ years of experience analyzing and manipulating large healthcare claim datasets
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL
- Proven excellent problem-solving and communication skills, along with critical thinking skills
Nice to have
- ASA/FSA, or progress toward ASA or FSA designation
- Experience with Government Programs, Medicare Advantage, CMS ACO/Alternative Payment Models, and/or VBC modeling
- Experience presenting business insights and summaries to stakeholders
- Proven ability to self-motivate, quickly learn new business concepts and take initiatives
