Purpose:
The Actuarial Associate III - New Markets Pricing, will play a pivotal role in pricing and risk analysis of new, innovative, and emerging business opportunities at Athene. This position requires a creative problem solving and critical thinking background to evaluate new product risks and enhance Athene and Apollo's competitive edge through the pricing of these products.
The team is dedicated to pricing and assessing risk of innovative solutions for markets adjacent to our current offerings, such as Defined Contributions, Institutional Products, and the RIA channel.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain pricing models for New Markets products, including Stable Value (GICs, wraps, etc.), In-Plan Fixed Indexed Annuities, Contingent Deferred Annuities, Structured Settlements, and other annuity / institutional retirement products
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams including Asset Management, Risk, Finance, Valuation, and Accounting Policy to develop pricing frameworks and ALM strategies for New Markets Products
- Report pricing results, risk analyses, and key performance metrics to senior management for purposes of rate setting.
- Assist in the development of initial product ideas that can be shared with potential partners.
- Assist in execution of new ideas for all of Athene including drafting detailed product specifications, designing internal workflows, and serving as workstream leader.
- Develop presentation materials to facilitate internal transaction and product launch approval processes.
- Collaborate with other business units on all aspects of product launch execution and develop relationships with and knowledge of other parts of the organization.
- Interpersonal skills required to promote cooperation from all levels of personnel.
- Analytical tenacity to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in pricing or other actuarial roles, consulting, financial services, or the life insurance sector.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to price products and manage several projects.
- Demonstrated passion for products that help address the retirement crisis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and pricing software (MG-ALFA, AXIS, etc.) skills.
- ASA actuarial certification with progress towards FSA
- Prior insurance experience is a plus.
$115,680.00 - $173,520.00 USD Annual
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
