Modeling-heavy individual contributor

Closer to a modeling-heavy IC role than a capital-risk strategy role—the differentiator is hands-on model ownership rather than primarily ERM governance.

Life and annuity insurance risk-modeling role for an Actuarial Associate in Des Moines, Iowa, with onsite work indicated. You will develop and validate liability models, stress results across GAAP, Stat, Econ, and Bermuda views, and support pricing, valuation, hedging, and balance-sheet decisions.

Requirements

Must have

  • Not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline
  • 4+ years in a diversified life and annuity / financial or actuarial consulting environment
  • 4+ years modeling insurance products
  • Clear and compelling communication skills for translating technical concepts
  • Strong Python skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with MG-ALFA/Pathwise/PolySystem
  • Professional designation (FSA/ASA/CFA)
  • Working knowledge of life and annuity products
  • Prior hedging or ALM experience
