Entry-level health actuarial internship in Oakland, CA supporting pricing, reserving, and data work. You will validate encounter/RUW data, assist with model releases and SAS-to-Databricks conversion, and support rating exhibits and rate filing tasks.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Support pricing, rate development, and claims liability estimation for health products
- Perform data validation of encounter/RUW data and assist SAS to Databricks conversion
- Help with monthly model releases, uploading factor tables and peer review
- Assist with rating exhibits and rate filings (regulatory support)
- Hybrid internship – mix of remote work and on-site at One Kaiser Plaza, Oakland
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Passed at least one actuarial exam
- Data validation for encounter/RUW data
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Pass at least one actuarial exam
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or graduated within the last year
- GPA of 3.0 or above (preferred/expected)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
