Senior health-focused actuarial consultant supporting employee benefits clients from HUB's national actuarial practice in Bothell, WA. You’ll lead small and mid-market client engagements, build experience reports, budget projections and reserves, and leverage Excel, SQL and Power BI with HUB’s data warehouse. Role reports to the National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services and requires an active ASA.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Act as client lead for small and mid-market employee benefits clients
- Prepare experience reports, budget projections, and reserve setting
- Build and update tools using Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI and SQL
- Mentor junior colleagues and support regional consulting teams
- Report to the National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Employee benefits consulting (5+ years)
- Experience with self-funded clients and budget projections
- Reserve setting and experience reports
- Comfortable using a data warehouse and running ad hoc reports
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Active ASA and ability to sign actuarial certifications (MAAA-related signing)
- 5+ years of employee benefits consulting experience
- Experience with self-funded clients, budgeting and reserve setting
- Proficiency with Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI and SQL
- Obtain Life & Health Insurance license within first 3 months
