Senior actuarial consultant role focused on Employee Benefits (health) within a national actuarial practice in Chicago. You will lead actuarial consulting for small to mid-market clients, deliver experience reports, budget projections and reserve setting, and build models and financial templates. The role reports to the National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services and requires an ASA and 5+ years of EB consulting experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead actuarial consulting for small and mid-market employee benefits clients
- Prepare experience reports, budget projections, and reserve setting
- Use Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI and SQL to run data warehouse analyses
- Mentor junior colleagues and support regional consulting teams
- Report to the National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services in Chicago
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Employee benefits consulting
- Experience with self-funded clients and budget projections
- Reserve setting and experience reporting for EB clients
- Working with data warehouses and ad hoc reporting
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- ASA certification and ability to sign actuarial certifications (MAAA)
- 5+ years of employee benefits consulting experience (5-7 years preferred)
- Experience with self-funded clients, budgeting and reserve setting
- Proficiency with Excel, VBA, Power Query/Power BI and SQL
- Obtain Life & Health Insurance license within first 3 months
