Senior health/employee benefits actuarial consulting role in Chicago. You will lead client engagements for self-funded and insured EB clients, perform experience studies, budget projections and reserve setting, build financial templates and reports, and mentor junior staff. The role reports to the National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services and requires an ASA and 5+ years of EB consulting experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead actuarial engagements for small and mid-market employee benefits clients
- Perform experience reports, budget projections, and reserve setting
- Build templates and run ad hoc analyses using Excel, Power BI and SQL
- Client-facing role representing HUB and mentoring junior colleagues
- Based in Chicago; reports to National Director of Underwriting and Actuarial Services
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Employee benefits consulting
- Self-funded client budgeting and reserve setting
- Experience with mid-market and jumbo clients
- Knowledge of US markets including education, healthcare, public sector
- Data warehouse reporting and ad hoc analysis
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- ASA credential required and able to sign actuarial certifications
- 5+ years of employee benefits consulting experience
- Experience with self-funded clients, budgeting and reserve setting
- Proficiency with Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI and SQL
- Obtain Life & Health insurance license within first 3 months
