Health actuarial consultant supporting Optum/UHG Trend Analytics on medical expense reporting and forecasting. You will build actuarial models, run quarterly reporting/forecast processes, and analyze large healthcare claims datasets. Remote within the U.S. with preference for proximity to Eden Prairie, MN for some hires.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for medical expense reporting and forecasting
- Analyze large healthcare claims datasets to identify cost trends and variances
- Run quarterly reporting and standardized actuarial trend methods
- Use SAS, SQL and advanced Excel (including VBA) for analysis and automation
- Remote role (U.S.) with local Eden Prairie, MN hires subject to on-site requirements
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Medical expense reporting and forecasting
- Analyzing large healthcare claims datasets
- Familiarity with standard actuarial trend methods
- Experience with payer/provider financial reporting
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- 4+ years of actuarial experience
- Progress toward ASA credential (Actuarial exam student)
- Proficiency in Excel with VBA, SAS, and SQL
- Experience analyzing large healthcare claims datasets
