Closer to a data science crossover than a pure modelling IC role because the ad combines actuarial pricing ownership with broader machine learning and decision science.
Senior P&C actuarial data science role with American Modern’s Predictive Analytics team in Cincinnati, Ohio. You’ll lead personal lines pricing model strategy, develop and monitor predictive models in R and Python, support regulatory filings, and influence business decisions across specialty property and recreational insurance.
Requirements
Must have
- FCAS designation
- No employer visa sponsorship available
Strongly preferred
- Proficiency in R and Python
- Deep understanding of GLMs and GBMs
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
- Experience in agile team environment with Scrum or Kanban
- Strong commitment to testing, validation, and continuous improvement of models and workflows
- Proven experience with project management and prioritization
- 6+ years data science/predictive analytics experience in insurance or 8+ years in another industry
- Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts
- Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms
