Role Summary

HIGHLIGHTS

Director-level life actuarial consulting role supporting regulatory financial condition examinations across the United States. You will lead actuarial workstreams covering statutory valuation, reserving (including PBR), model validation, and reinsurance review for life and A&H insurers. This position reports to the Vice President Actuary and is open to remote/virtual work.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Lead actuarial workstreams for financial condition examinations of life and A&H insurers
Evaluate statutory reserves, PBR (VM-20/21/22), and asset adequacy/cash flow testing
Perform model, assumption, and calculation validation and reinsurance analysis
Client-facing consulting role working with state Departments of Insurance
Director-level role reporting to the Vice President Actuary; remote work supported

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

Statutory valuation and reserving for life and A&H insurers
Regulatory examination experience supporting state Departments of Insurance
Experience with principle-based reserving (VM-20/VM-21/VM-22) and AAT
Model validation, governance, and assumption assessment (mortality, lapse, interest)
Evaluation of reinsurance arrangements and reserve credit eligibility

KEY REQUIREMENTS

10+ years of actuarial experience with emphasis on valuation and statutory reporting
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries required
Demonstrated experience with regulatory examinations or consulting for insurance regulators
Deep knowledge of SAP, NAIC model regulations, and actuarial standards of practice (ASOPs)
