P&C actuarial role on The Hartford’s Global Specialty US Actuarial pricing team supporting Financial Lines (Private Company Management Liability). You'll develop and maintain pricing methodologies, perform loss ratio planning, support rate filings and semi-annual reserve studies, and apply predictive modeling using R/SQL. This is an Assistant Director / Actuarial Associate level role based in Hartford, CT with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office).
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Develop and maintain pricing methodologies for Financial Lines (management liability)
- Perform rate development, loss ratio planning, profitability studies and filings
- Support semi-annual reserve studies and frequency/severity trend analyses
- Use R and SQL to enhance processes and build predictive models
- Hybrid role — Hartford office 3 days/week (Tue–Thu); other hubs considered
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Property and Casualty actuarial experience
- Actuarial pricing and reserving techniques
- Private company management liability (Financial Lines)
- Proficiency in Excel
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 4+ years of Property & Casualty actuarial experience
- Proficiency in Excel is required
