P&C reserving role on The Hartford’s Global Specialty US Actuarial team supporting Financial Lines, Bond, and Credit & Political Risk. You’ll complete reserve studies, build monitoring diagnostics, and partner with Claims and Reserving. Associate-level role (hybrid) based in Hartford, CT (also options in Chicago or Charlotte).
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Perform reserve studies and advise management on reserve decisions
- Develop monitoring tools and reserving diagnostics using R and SQL
- Improve data quality and reserving procedures in collaboration with Claims
- Hybrid role — 3 days/week in office (Hartford, Chicago, or Charlotte)
- Ideal for candidates with 4+ years P&C reserving experience and strong Excel
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Property and Casualty insurance actuarial experience
- Actuarial reserving techniques and reserve studies
- High proficiency with Excel
- General knowledge of P&C insurance operations
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 4+ years of Property and Casualty actuarial experience
- Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field
- Knowledge of actuarial reserving techniques and reserve studies
- High proficiency in Excel required
