Job Description

SCOR's U.S. Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for students to explore a career in actuarial science by working with the Group Life and Accident Reinsurance team. Interns will assist actuaries in key areas such as pricing, risk management, and financial reporting, with a primary focus on monitoring risk concentrations within the portfolio. This internship is designed to be flexible, allowing students to work approximately 12-16 hours per week during the academic year and transition to full-time hours during the summer. The hybrid work schedule supports a balance between professional development and academic commitments, providing valuable exposure to the reinsurance industry and actuarial practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support the actuaries and underwriters through active participation in projects and meetings
  • Communicate and collaborate with other SCOR employees, both in Minneapolis and globally, to successfully complete projects and team goals
  • Assist with concentration data management
  • Assist in research to supplement pricing and risk management where needed
  • Prepare project related reports and presentations
  • Other actuarial related activities in support of the team


Qualifications

  • Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Passed at least one actuarial exam.
  • Analytically minded with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel and working with data
  • Comfortable learning new software or programming languages
  • Preference for students in an Actuarial Science program
  • Demonstrated success in passing actuarial exams.

Candidates must have valid authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

SCOR employees work 3 days per week in an office with the flexibility to work 2 days per week remotely.

Pay Range: $26.00 - 28.00 hourly rate. Actual salaries may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, role and performance. The range listed is just one component of SCOR's total compensation package for employees.
