We are hiring Actuarial Summer Interns to start in May/June 2026. This position is at our Cincinnati, Ohio Headquarters.

The following departments are seeking an intern:
  • Corporate P&C Actuarial - Pricing/Reserving
  • Great American Risk Solutions - an Excess & Surplus lines division


Responsibilities:
  • Performing Microsoft Excel spreadsheet work - updating and maintaining existing spreadsheets.
  • Developing new spreadsheets and ad hoc reports for analysis.
  • Work could include creation of Visual Basic macros.
  • Entering data, running projections, collecting result information and data, and producing analysis reports.
  • Database maintenance - modify/create SQL queries, database cleansing and manipulation using R.
  • Running existing queries following documented processes.
  • Maintaining files and data for a number of activities and projects.
  • Work could include modifying and running "R" scripts.
  • Summarizing data and creating exhibits for various reports
  • Data visualizations
  • Other various computer-related projects and activities.


Qualifications:
  • Excel experience: Intermediate to Advanced level.
  • Passed at least one Actuarial Exam.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher required, 3.5 preferred.
  • Beginner to Intermediate level with R, Python, or other Programming Languages.
