Closer to a pricing partner than a modelling-heavy role because the internship supports quotations and in-force business rather than owning models.

P&C actuarial internship in workers' compensation pricing with MEC in Chesterfield, Missouri. You will prepare exposure, loss, and coverage data for quotations, in-force book maintenance, and client service work, while supporting actuarial research and process improvements. The role is onsite and suited to a quantitative bachelor's student, with CAS or SOA progress preferred.

Requirements

Must have

  • Reside in greater St. Louis area and commute to Chesterfield office

Strongly preferred

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related quantitative field
  • Advanced analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong decision-making abilities

Nice to have

  • Professional office experience
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials through CAS or SOA
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or Power BI
  • Knowledge of R, Python, or similar modeling software
