Structured actuarial internship
Closer to a student development programme than a modelling-heavy IC role—the internship combines mentorship with exposure across several actuarial areas.
Actuarial internship in the Actuarial Services Department in Maryland Heights, Missouri, with on-site work at the St. Louis headquarters. You will support pricing, reserving, and risk management projects, analyze and build actuarial models, and present findings to department leaders. The internship runs part-time during spring 2027 and full-time in summer 2027, or full-time from May 17 through July 30, 2027.
Requirements
Must have
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
Strongly preferred
- Currently enrolled in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Math or similar program
- 30+ credit hours completed with graduation no earlier than December 2028
- Foundational understanding of actuarial models, insurance principles, and risk management
- Proficiency in advanced mathematics including calculus and discrete distributions
- Ability to clearly articulate complex topics to varied audiences
- Ability to work on-site at headquarters in Saint Louis, MO
- Available part-time spring 2027 and full-time summer 2027, or full-time summer 2027 only
Nice to have
- Prior work or internship experience
- Familiarity with SQL programming including scripting and queries
- Passed or scheduled actuarial exams such as Exam P or Exam FM
- Exposure to additional programming languages such as VBA, Python, SAS or R
