Closer to an underwriting partnership role than a data-science crossover—the analytics support risk and portfolio decisions rather than building ML systems.

P&C actuarial internship supporting residential property underwriting and portfolio analytics in Fairfield, California. You’ll analyze third-party data, maintain dashboards, conduct research, and support pricing, portfolio strategy, and market expansion initiatives. The onsite role is designed for a current bachelor’s student and offers exposure to underwriters, analytics leaders, and executives.

Requirements

Must have

  • Intermediate skills in Excel

Strongly preferred

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Actuarial and Data Science, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams
  • AI experience or coursework (e.g., applied AI, machine learning, natural language processing, or workplace analytics tools)

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or BI tools
