Markel is seeking college sophomores and juniors with the right combination of mathematic, analytic and communication skills for the summer of 2024. In this internship, you will be working directly with our team of actuaries to learn about the actuarial operations of a global, publicly traded company. You will get hands-on experience within our pricing, reserving, or operational functions. This internship will also include special projects that will be assigned during your summer internship that you will be expected to complete by specific deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Sophomores or Junior standing with an anticipated graduation date of May 2024 or May 2025
  • Excellent academic credentials (GPA 3.5 or above)
  • Actuarial, Statistics, or Mathematics academic concentration
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and analytical skills
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Property and casualty insurance market interest
