Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for an Actuarial Intern to work with our North America Treaty Cat Modeling team. Thisrole will be performed in our Stamford office.
Role Description
The ActuarialIntern will work with our North America Treaty Cat Modeling team. The Intern will be exposed to an array of the following:
- Challenging assignments with practical, on-the-job experience
- Learn how to operate with industry leading catastrophe models
- Learn to apply key concepts in the insurance / reinsurance industry
- Work with modeling experts in analyzing natural catastrophe exposure
- Assist modeling experts in research projects of catastrophe models
Work is done in a team environment, which utilizes theexperience and knowledge of all team members. These exposures and projectswill provide the Intern with an understanding of the dynamics of a corporateteam and its environment.
Role Qualifications and Experience
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree with an accredited college or university (prefer sophomore year student)
- Open to students working towards a Master's degree, but prefer first year students
- Strong written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Analytically minded and critical-thinking skills
- Organizational ability and attention to detail
- Capacity to work in a team environment
- Mathematics or statistics major a plus
- Prefer knowledge of statistical modeling packages, programming languages, and spreadsheets/databases
Salary Range
22.00 - 24.00 USD
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
