HIGHLIGHTS

Life actuarial intern supporting valuation and transaction work. You will build actuarial projections for life and annuity blocks, perform static and dynamic model validations, and assist with deal models and actuarial reports. This is a full-time remote internship based out of New York (US).

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Develop actuarial projections for life and annuity blocks using MG-ALFA/Integrate
  • Review and analyse liability, mortality, and lapse experience data
  • Assist with Excel-based deal models for M&A and financing assignments
  • Perform static and dynamic model validations and help prepare actuarial reports
  • Full-time remote internship; pursuing a bachelor's and 2+ exams required

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Pursuing a bachelor's in actuarial science, mathematics/statistics, or finance
  • Prior insurance experience in a professional setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and database languages (Access/AQL) or VBA
  • Familiarity with programming in Python, SAS, or R
  • At least two actuarial exams passed (SOA or CAS)

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s in actuarial science, math/statistics, or finance
  • At least two actuarial exams passed (SOA or CAS) and continuing exams expected
  • Prior insurance experience in a professional setting
  • Experience with Excel and database/programming (Access/AQL, VBA, Python, SAS, or R)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
