You will assist with STAT/GAAP/TAX claims and reserve reporting, prepare data for annual statements, and support pricing, filings and profitability studies. The role reports to the Sr. Actuary and involves developing analytical tools and presenting pricing results.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Assist with quarterly and annual STAT/GAAP/TAX claims and reserve reporting
- Prepare data for annual statement exhibits and profitability studies
- Support pricing, filings, and summarizing pricing results
- Develop and improve analytical tools using Excel, Access, or analytics languages
- Onsite internship in Austin, TX reporting to the Sr. Actuary
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Actuarial studies including life contingencies and interest theory
- Coursework in statistics, mathematics, or accounting
- Knowledge of insurance industry and financial/statistical data analysis
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Coursework in actuarial studies including life contingencies and interest theory
- Coursework in statistics, mathematics, or accounting
- Ability to calculate and analyze complex statistical data
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
