What you will learn:
As an Intern, you will be given a solid overview of property-casualty insurance and Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions' operations. This position provides challenging, practical, and meaningful work experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Actuarial pricing
- Actuarial reserving
- Predictive modeling
- Stochastic financial modeling
- Data collection and reporting
- Information management
- Programming development.
You will focus on developing the skills necessary for success by working with and assisting professionals with day-to-day job assignments and special projects. While your assignments will vary over time as you gain experience and skills, interns will typically perform some of the work of an entry-level actuarial professional.
Qualifications:
- Must be working towards a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and graduating in December 2026 or later
- Proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is a plus
- Outstanding organization/time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
