Closer to a structured student programme than a modelling-heavy role—the placements and capstone are designed for breadth across actuarial functions.

Life actuarial internship in Munich Re’s US reinsurance business, based in New York with a hybrid schedule. You may rotate across biometric research, corporate actuarial, and pricing, working on experience studies, assumptions, valuation, profitability, models, and reinsurance solutions. The role is designed for students with at least one SOA exam.

Requirements

Must have

  • Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Risk Management, or equivalent program
  • Successful completion of one SOA exam

Strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication skills – spoken, written, formal/informal presentation
  • Proven capability to multi-task and self-manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Exhibits solid organizational skills and attention to detail/accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities – clear-thinking, curiosity, integrity, and drive
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills

Nice to have

  • Two or more SOA exams preferred
  • Relevant work experience (in actuarial, insurance, or financial services) preferred
