Twelve-week health insurance actuarial internship beginning May or June 2027, based in Boise or one of several Pacific Northwest offices. You’ll provide technical, analytical, and support work for an insurer’s actuarial division, using spreadsheets, statistical analysis, databases, and large datasets. The role is hybrid, with in-office expectations varying by location.
Requirements
Must have
Working towards a degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, economics, or similar
Progress towards passing at least one actuarial exam
Minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate grade point average
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program through spring 2027
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah for the internship
Strongly preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, database creation and management
Experience working with large datasets
Interest in working full-time after graduation
Reside within commutable distance from Salt Lake City, Boise, or Lewiston offices or willing to relocate
Nice to have
Experience utilizing generative AI tools in area of expertise
