We are seeking an experienced predictive modeling expert who can lead all aspects of building and operationalizing predictive models in the insurance operations. We are building a new team and this candidate will have significant opportunity to influence the direction, structure and vision of the team. This will be a high visibility, high exposure role with opportunity to quickly provide tangible value to our organization.
What You'll Do:
- You will develop and direct the development of predictive models to be used in Actuarial and other insurance applications.
- You'll hire, train, and supervise staff. Develop goals and conduct performance appraisals. Approve and initiate salary increases, promotions, terminations, and other changes in employee status.
- You will partner with Actuarial, Product Management, Underwriting, Claims, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, and Office of the General Counsel to ensure you are developing relevant models that help with real challenges.
- You will partner with our Information Technology and Data and Analytics groups to build and ensure access to the necessary data elements for your models.
- You will develop a training and upskilling program to ensure that your team has the skills and knowledge necessary to best adapt to improving technology and tools in the future.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, actuarial science, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree is preferred.
- 10+ years' experience in the actuarial field and/or in predictive modeling roles required.
- 6+ years' Statistical or Actuarial modeling experience required
- Advanced technical knowledge of predictive modeling techniques and principals
- Expertise with SQL, Python, R or similar application
- Radar/Emblem experience preferred
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society is preferred
