Remote US Health actuarial manager role focused on Medicaid consulting and actuarial rate development. You will lead client engagements, oversee teams and projects, perform complex healthcare analyses, and contribute to business development. The role combines people leadership with hands-on work using claims, enrollment, financial, and operational data.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree (quantitative field preferred)
Strongly preferred
- ASA designation
- 5+ years relevant actuarial, healthcare consulting, Medicaid, managed care, or analytics experience
- Demonstrated leadership experience leading projects, workstreams, or consulting engagements
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing actuarial or consulting professionals
- Experience analyzing healthcare claims, enrollment, eligibility, or financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication and client presentation skills
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; manage competing priorities
- Proficiency with SQL, SAS, R, or Python and Microsoft Office/Excel
- Ability to handle protected health information and sensitive information appropriately
- Experience with state Medicaid agencies, Medicaid managed care organizations, or public healthcare programs
- Knowledge of Medicaid managed care financing, actuarial rate development, healthcare operations, and CMS requirements
- Experience supporting proposals, business development, or design of new consulting services
- Ability to travel occasionally based on client and business needs
