Our office in Lincoln, RI is seeking an experienced actuary to join our leadership team and work with our dynamic group of analysts. As part of the team, you will lead a group of actuarial analysts that manage state and product rate levels and rating structures for our $2.3B personal lines book. You will join the team in a highly visible leadership role, directing high impact projects aimed at meeting our strategic goals.

In this position, you will also be responsible for leveraging analytical data and guide unique financial related projects, assessing the financial impact of business proposals/regulations, and making recommendations based on the analysis. You will coordinate and implement major long term cross divisional and tactical projects related to rates, rating structure, and product offerings.

In addition, we're looking for you to:

  • Motivate and develop a team of actuarial analysts and utilize advanced actuarial tools to build strategies that support corporate objectives.
  • Direct innovative actuarial process improvements and use data and analytical tools add efficiencies to department functions.
  • Partner with the team of data scientists to drive pricing sophistication the construction of state of the art risk models.
  • Integrate data sources and leverage quantitative analytical tools to solve complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with leadership of the sales, underwriting, claims, IT, and Accounting teams to achieve company growth and profitability goals.
  • Utilize experience and expertise to accelerate production business solutions and drive innovative ideas to achieve department and company goals.

We're also looking to bring your strengths to the team:

  • Ten years of experience in an actuarial capacity.
  • Achievement of Associateship or Fellowship in the CAS preferred.
  • Exceptional knowledge of ratemaking principles and contemporary personal lines actuarial techniques and
  • Excellent business acumen and demonstrated quantitative and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong programming, data querying experience, and spreadsheet construction preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in applied mathematics, statistics or related field preferred.


This posting is for the role of Actuarial Officer, Actuarial Assistant Vice President, or Actuarial Sr. Assistant Vice President. The specific role will reflect the candidate's specific qualifications.

The role is located in our Lincoln, RI office, and will be eligible for up to two work from home days per week.
