Senior health actuarial consultant focused on Medicare Advantage forecasting within UnitedHealth Group's Trend Analytics - Forecasting & Insights team. You will build and maintain trend and financial forecast models, analyze large claims datasets, and deliver partner-ready insights using R, Python, SQL and Excel. This is a US-remote role (with local on-site expectations for certain metro areas) based out of Eden Prairie, MN.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Design and maintain Medicare Advantage trend and financial forecast models
- Analyze large, heterogeneous healthcare claims datasets to support forecasts
- Build analytics using R, Python, SQL, SAS and advanced Excel
- Mentor junior team members and lead internal training sessions
- Remote role (U.S.); local hires in Minneapolis/DC expected in-office 4 days/week
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- healthcare actuarial experience
- experience with large heterogeneous claims datasets
- Medicare Advantage forecasting experience
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- On actuarial exam track with a minimum of 4 exams passed
- 4+ years actuarial or analytics experience in healthcare/finance
- 4+ years manipulating large claims and non-claim datasets
- Extensive experience building and maintaining Excel-based models
