P&C small business actuarial role supporting Hartford's $5B Small Business organization. You will develop pricing and territory strategies across Auto, BOP, and Workers' Comp, perform state rate reviews, and build/enhance analytic tools. Hybrid role based in Hartford, CT (3 days/week) with opportunities for different seniority levels.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Develop pricing and territory strategies for Small Business P&C lines
- Support state rate reviews and serve as territory SME across Auto, BOP, and WC
- Build and enhance analytic tools to support pricing and portfolio decisions
- Hybrid schedule – Hartford office 3 days/week (Tue–Thu)
- Open at Sr Actuarial Analyst or Associate/AD levels depending on experience
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Small business Auto, BOP, and Workers' Compensation experience
- State rate filing and review experience
- Pricing and rate strategy for a territory
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Sr Actuarial Analyst: 2+ years experience and 4 actuarial exams
- AD & Associate Actuary: 4+ years experience and 6–7 actuarial exams
- Fluency in Small Business lines: Auto, BOP, and Workers' Compensation
- Strong communication and stakeholder-influence skills
